Following the precedent set by the popular high-end Reference series drums, Pearl has put the very same sonic research into practice at a more price-conscious level. The new Vision series drum feature a hybrid birch/basswood shell to let each drum reach its full sonic potential. The VLX Vision series differs from the VSX line in that it features Super High Gloss lacquer finishes as opposed to exotic covered finishes. Pearl Vision series toms feature a 6ply, 7.5mm shell while bass drums and floor toms have a slightly thicker 8ply, 10mm shell.
