Fiberskyn 3 drumheads were created to duplicate the characteristic look, sound, and feel of drumheads used in the Bebop jazz era. The classic Fiberskyn 3 sound features a warm, dark, round tone which is highly recommended for traditional jazz, concert snare drums, bass drums and tom-toms. Fiberskyn 3 heads are made by fusing a single-ply of Mylar film with poly-spun fibers in a proprietary high temperature bonding process. The resulting finish is similar to the texture of animal skin and is great for brushwork.
Fiberskyn 3 is available in the three commonly used weights, but are referenced differently because of the additional bonding process. (FD weight is the equivalent of a Diplomat thickness while the following (FA) is the equivalent of an Ambassado-weight. After that is FE, which is the equivalent of a two-ply thickness.
